CJCUC Condemns the Attack on the Latrun Monastery

David Nekrutman, Director of the Center for Christian Jewish Understanding and Cooperation in Efrat has strongly condemned the attack on the Latrun Monastery. Calling the attack “indefensible” Mr. Nekrutman said,
“This morning, I visited the monastery and was horrified to see the mindless vandalism. The monks who live there are well known for their commitment to peaceful coexistence with all their neighbors. This shameful attack goes against our Jewish values.”
Speaking to the head of the monastery, Mr. Nekrutman conveyed his outrage at the attack and reaffirmed his center’s commitment to working for tolerance and understanding between the Jewish and Christian communities of Israel.
The Center for Christian Jewish Understanding and Cooperation in Efrat was established five years ago by Rabbi Shlomo Riskin. It has hosted tens of thousands of people from around the world promoting a message of fellowship and support between two faith communities.
